Frankly, I’ve let this blog slip through my fingers for the past few weeks. Life events took up more of my day. So did my permanent job. Finally, I self-published a new ebook and spent hours developing a marketing strategy for it. Instead of brushing this issue under the rug, I wanted to discuss the problem of not enough time. How being an employee and a business owner can suck.
Not Enough Time: Why This Happened To Me Now
For one, I bought a new house in late August. Thus, I spent a bunch of time in September moving and getting the new house set up.
Second, my permanent job needs me to do overtime because we’re behind in work. I went in an worked a Saturday last week, and I will go work this upcoming Sunday.
Finally, my other business required my attention. If you don’t know, I’m a self-published author and I run another blog. And I have the bright idea to build on my YouTube channel. All of these ventures are gaining popularity and I strike when the iron is hot.
Since I sleep about 7 to 8 hours a night, then work 8 hours a day at my permanent job, that leaves a short amount of hours and minutes to handle the tasks for all my business ventures.
Not Enough Time: How I’m Dealing With It
As I’m building my brand I determine what tasks are crucial and do those first. Then I figure out which tasks I can push off. Finally, I have to let some things slide. While I could work long hours getting everything done, that would only hurt me in the long run. Health-wise and regarding my permanent job.
Honestly, I have a plan to stop working my permanent job so I can focus all my time to my business ventures. Whenever I have time off (like my weekends or holidays or vacation), I spend a good amount of my day working on my businesses.
Until then, I will continue to determine which tasks are important and which I can let slide. However, this website will not be forgotten.
